2Advanced came to me with the task to build the online community architecture, interaction, and layouts for the Namco/Bandai game Ace Combat: Assault Horizon- the latest upcoming fighter pilot game in the 19-year-old Ace Combat series. Working with 2Advanced I oversaw the user experience while their team worked on the visual design and development of the site.

Distilling requirements and detailed game information from the Japanese game company’s documentation, I designed and outlined interaction for gamer profiles, social interaction via Facebook and Twitter, leaderboards, achievements, and a global view of conquest within the game.

The outcome is an end-to-end online experience that imports the entire game’s data from the PS3 and XBOX Live gaming networks, while adding on a new layer of web-only gameplay achievements.
